Pre-GCSE: Arabic: 1-2 year/s depending on speed and ability to comprehend tasks, and lessons.
Foundation Tier: GCSE Arabic 1 year, depending on amount of previous Arabic knowledge.
Higher Tier: GCSE Arabic 1 Year, depending on amount of previous Arabic knowledge.

What does the GCSE Arabic structure look like?
Arabic Type: Modern Standard Arabic (MSA).
Level 1 & 2: Foundation tier & Higher tier.

Availability: Online in the U.K. As well as in Qatar, Dubai/United Emirates, Egypt, Morocco etc.

Course Duration: 1-2 Years (Depend on previous Arabic ability, and which level you start).
Previous Arabic Knowledge Assumed: No. You can start with one of our basic Arabic courses.Â
Recommended Preparation Course: Pre-GCSE, or another basic Arabic course.Â
GCSE Textbooks, and PDFs:Â Various, depending on level.Â
Resources: Various materials, past papers, books, tutor/examiner knowledge, and experience.
Course Teachers: Arabic, and English speaking GCSE Arabic examiner, and teachers, with several Arabic qualifications, including GCSE Arabic, A level, and Middle Eastern Arabic Studies.Â

What will you study?
The content of the GCSE Arabic covers:
- Texts for reading comprehension.
- Audios for listening comprehension.
- Writing development.
- Speaking ability.
- Grammar.
- Core vocabulary.
- Culture.
- Exam preparation tips and strategies.Â
- Sub topic coverage.
Note: It is not enough to use only past papers to prepare for the GCSE exam. Not every Arabic tutor will have the experience to teach this subject. Our GCSE tutors are also Arabic examiners, who have attended, and taught in several schools in England, U.K. to prepare students for this exam.
Assessments
Need an assessment?
An assessment may be needed to start a foundation, or higher tier course. Assessments are of three main steps:
- No assessment needed for Pre-GCSE Arabic. You can start with a free trial.
- A one-to-one general Arabic assessment with the tutor. Price starts from £15.50/45 minutes, and £17.50/60 minutes. Or a one-to-one assessment with the tutor focused on a particular skill such as writing, reading, speaking, listening or grammar.Â
- A self assessment where you access an assessment in your own time, for 24 hours access, and pay less. This will mainly test reading, general knowledge, and listening skills. See more details on self assessments.

Want to know more?
Can I complete the GCSE Arabic course in 1 year or less?
- Yes, if you have a good background in Arabic, and can handle the exercises during lessons.
How many lessons should I take each week?
- The recomended amount of lessons per week is two. If you are taking one lesson per week the course may take longer, unless you have the ability to comprehend Arabic concepts and tasks quickly and past internal tests.
Is being able to read the Quran good preparation for the foundation or higher tier exam?
- If you have studied Quranic Arabic beyond recitation and Tajweed, such as reading comprehension, and grammar, then yes, otherwise you will need to start with Pre-GCSE Arabic.
Is the foundation tier easier than the higher Arabic exam?
- When compared to the foundation tier the higher tier Arabic exam has 1) A slightly longer exam time. 2)Â Has more vocabulary 3) Has more grammar concepts. How easy the papers/exams are will depend on how well prepared you are, and the amount of quality lessons taken.
Will I get homework?
- Yes. Homework is due the day before your next lesson. Tutors shall specify deadlines and any other notes.
Is it open to adults, and home schoolers?
- Yes. Adults are able to take the GCSE course, as well as the exam. This course is suitable for home schoolers as well as those who already study Arabic elsewhere.Â

Deadlines
Qualification entry date.
The qualification entry date deadline is usually 21st February each year. If you are entering after this date you may be charged a late entry fee.Â
- Tutors may specify other deadlines within courses.
- Internal homework deadlines are fixed.

Pearson Exam Dates
1. Speaking paper window: Mid April to mid May.
2. Listening and Reading: Usually the second week in May.
3. Writing: End of May to first week in June.
