Preparing For GCSE Arabic Exams

Preparing for GCSE Arabic exams, are you registered?

The below are a few things that you should be aware of:

  • The exam is not taken in any native local Arabic dialects, only Modern Standard Arabic.
  • The exam does not test the Quran reading skills of students attending schools.
  • The exam is not suitable for anyone who is an Arab just because they can speak native Arabic.
  • Your child should be able to speak Modern Standard Arabic, know Arabic grammar, and have had previous Arabic tuition, in GCSE Arabic Pearson exam board, to know what to do and what not to do.
Preparing For GCSE Arabic Exams

If your child is already registered for the exam with the school then you will need to find a speaking examiner to attended your child’s school, for the Arabic speaking exam.

If your child is not already registered for the exam then check that you have not passed the deadline for registration. You should always apply early.

Be sure to check, and double check, that your child or student, has had a course of lessons in GCSE Arabic. This is usually a two year course but may be completed in less time depending on your child’s ability. Tuition will help you become aware of various situations you will encounter in the exams, so get some support.

The school will act as a host centre, so you will need to contact them firstly to see if it is possible to still register. The school does not have to offer the exam just host it, as the papers shall be sent to the school. If you are a mature student, not attending school, then you will need to source an Arabic examiner as well as a host centre.

If your school is not able to host you, for any reason, then another school may host you.

We hope this helps.

Any questions do let us know.
